Former bomb disposal specialist Song Kang-Ren and his fiancée, Huang Xin, find themselves on a high-speed train that has been rigged with a bomb. Simultaneously, Liu Kai, a renowned physics educator embroiled in a scandalous affair, also boards the same train with the hope of reconciling with his wife, Ting Juan, who had earlier taken this train home in disappointment.
