Eighteen-year-old Lilja travels to the city to visit her estranged grandparents, Áróra and Grímur, while preparing for auditions with an international art performance troupe. Upon learning of Lilja’s stay at the family’s home, her father Magnús and his younger sister Vala—two of Áróra and Grímur’s four children—become overwhelmed with anxiety and concern. During a family gathering to celebrate Lilja’s success in securing a spot with the prestigious art group, a long-buried dark secret comes to light. What begins as a joyful occasion quickly spirals into a shocking tragedy, transforming what should have been a festive reunion into a nightmare none could have anticipated.
