In Nagasaki, 1964, a 15-year-old named Kikuo faces a pivotal moment after the passing of his yakuza father. He is soon mentored by a renowned kabuki actor, who becomes a guiding figure in his life. Alongside Shunsuke, the actor’s only son, Kikuo immerses himself in the rich traditions of kabuki theatre. Over the years, the two youths develop a deep bond as they pursue their craft, with one ultimately rising to become Japan’s most celebrated master of kabuki.
