Storyline The Home (2025)

Years after leaving his small hometown behind, Joel returns to help move his mother, Monika, into a care facility for seniors coping with dementia. Soon after her arrival, Monika’s health rapidly declines. She begins to experience terrifying hallucinations of her deceased husband, her abusive father, and starts to display aggressive and violent behaviors. Joel becomes convinced that a sinister, supernatural force is taking hold of his mother. However, given his own struggles with substance abuse and mental health issues, he questions whether his perceptions are reliable. As Monika’s memories continue to fade, Joel is forced to confront the dark memories of his past—haunted by the ghosts of his childhood—while grappling with the possibility that something evil is lurking within his mother.
