Following a scandal involving her teenage daughter Maya in a compromising situation, her mother decides to relocate the family back to India to instill discipline and proper values. Years pass, and Maya returns to the United States with the goal of securing funding for her innovative teen-focused app. To better understand her target audience, she takes a job as a substitute high school teacher, immersing herself in the student environment. When the principal assigns her to teach sex education—a subject she’s never experienced firsthand—Maya, who remains a virgin, embarks on a journey with her best friend to embrace and explore the high school experience she previously missed out on.
