After spending numerous years in Oslo, Lena returns to her ancestral homeland of Sápmi in northern Norway with her young son to embark on an artistic exploration of Sami gender identities. During her research amidst the icy tundra, she develops a romantic connection with Máhtte, a reindeer herder whose mother, the family matriarch, disapproves of their relationship. As old memories and unresolved issues resurface, Lena faces the challenge of determining whether her way of life and Máhtte’s traditional Sami lifestyle can truly coexist.
