Ilija, a member of the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) stationed in Central Bosnia in late 1993, finds himself at the center of a deadly mystery. During a routine mine-laying operation one morning, he receives devastating news: his younger brother Goran has been killed far behind enemy lines alongside eight other soldiers. Through a trusted contact in the secret service, Ilija uncovers unsettling details—his brother and the others were engaged in an unofficial mission and were acting as mercenaries. Driven by the desire for justice, Ilija begins to unravel a complex web of illegal activities that involve not only military figures but also high-ranking government officials. As he delves deeper into the investigation, the danger escalates, and what started as a quest for the truth gradually transforms into a compulsive pursuit of revenge.
