In 1992, retired detective and author Martin Dye is brought in to locate a missing duffel bag filled with cash linked to a deadly crash from the 1970s, which resulted in the death of one friend and left another paralyzed. As Martin investigates, he navigates through the memories of former classmates, local gossip, and long-buried secrets, revealing a sinister history of drug abuse, treachery, and broken lives.
