Spring 1989 in the Indian Himalayas—where the lofty peaks are so shrouded in clouds that even the birds stay low—Dev, a quiet and unassuming man, owns a vast estate dotted with numerous orchards. His colonial-style home is a family sanctuary, and he dedicates much of his time to crafting human-sized wings, which he wears to soar briefly over his land each morning. One day, during a walk through his sprawling estate, Dev notices a single apple tree charred and burnt. Within days, additional trees meet the same fiery fate. Concerned and suspicious, Dev and his manager closely observe the plantation workers, but their efforts spark unrest among the laborers. Rumors point to a group of nomads as possible culprits, and corruption within the local police leads to further complications. Loyal guards camp nightly in the orchards, attempting to keep a watchful eye on any suspicious activity. Despite these precautions, a week later, a devastating wildfire erupts, consuming an entire mountainside of trees. In his desperate search for the perpetrator, Dev resorts to armed confrontation, risking everything. The slow-burning mystery and escalating violence force Dev to confront uncomfortable truths about himself and his family, revealing deeper conflicts beneath the serene Himalayan landscape.
